EdsLink LLC, a venture fund providing strategic financial, operations, and technology consulting services, was founded in 2000 by Edward Horowitz, Chair, and Deborah Chapin-Horowitz, Vice Chair.

Mr. Horowitz is Chairman of EdsLink LLC, a New York City based venture capital firm focused on financial, technology, media and telcom sectors. He is known for the breadth of his knowledge and business acumen in a wide variety of areas, including telecom, financial services, digital technology and satellite operations, strategy and content creation.

Mr. Horowitz currently serves on the Board of Harmoni Towers (private owner/operator of 1500 cell towers).  He is the Fmr. Chairman of the Board of the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet.gov) by appointment of the U.S. Secretary of Commerce in 2015 and 2018.  Mr. Horowitz served on the Board of Directors of Qumu (Nasdaq) (provider of enterprise live and on demand video) until its sale in February 2023 and on Board of Commissioners to LinkNet Tbk PT (LINK:IJ) (largest fixed broadband and cable TV operator in Indonesia) until its sale in July 2022.

Mr. Horowitz served as Chairman of the Board of Fairpoint Communications (NASDAQ: FRP) until its merger with Consolidated Communications. He also served on the Board of Directors of Globecomm Systems until its acquisition by Speedcast, Eagle Picher, Acterna until the sale to JDS Uniphase Corp. and Online Resources Corporation (NASDAQ: ORCC).  He has also served on the Board and as Co-CEO of Encompass Digital Media, a global provider of worldwide television content origination, live sports and news distribution.  Prior to Encompass, he served as President and CEO of SES AMERICOM, a market-leading satellite operator serving the entertainment, broadcast media, business enterprise, and government sectors.  In addition, he was a member of the Executive Committee of its parent company, SES (SESG Euronext Paris, Lux).

Prior to joining SES, in May 2005, Mr. Horowitz founded EdsLink LLC and served as a Strategic Advisor to Cablevision's Rainbow DBS Satellite Company, SPARX Group (TOPIX 8739), an independent, publicly-traded Japanese financial services and investment company, and to Neustar Inc (NYSE: NSR), a provider of third-party clearing house services to the telecommunications industry.

Before forming EdsLink, Mr. Horowitz founded and was Chairman of e-Citi, a global unit of Citigroup created to extend the reach of Citi's credit, brokerage, asset management and banking facilities into a set of web-centric offerings.  He also served on Citigroup’s Executive, Operating and Investment Committees.

Prior to joining Citibank, he was Senior Vice President, Viacom Inc. and a member of the Executive Committee.  He was also Chairman and CEO of Viacom Broadcasting, and the Viacom Interactive Media Group.  Prior to that Mr. Horowitz held various senior management positions at Home Box Office (HBO).  He earlier had been a founder of Suburban Cable.

Throughout his career, Mr. Horowitz has executed successful business strategies that leverage technology to open markets and bring compelling content to people around the world.  He also has been a leader in establishing global standards for in a number of technology arenas, including digital compression, HD and IPTV.

Mr. Horowitz has testified before the Defense Department Advisory board regarding strategic space, the U.S. Congress and regulatory agencies on telecommunications and public policy issues.

In 2011, Mr. Horowitz was inducted into the Society of Satellite Professional International SSPI Hall of Fame and has won several prestigious industry awards including Gartner Group’s Excellence in Technology Award and Lucent Technologies Bell Laboratories President’s Special Award for innovation.

Ms. Chapin-Horowitz currently serves as Vice Chair of EdsLink and CAO and General Counsel at Sucherman, a ZRG company (www.sucherman.com), a boutique media consulting and executive search firm. Prior to EdsLink, Ms. Chapin-Horowitz was Vice President, Associate General Counsel of Viacom Inc. and has extensive transactional background in media, satellites, technology and entertainment.  Prior to Viacom, Ms. Chapin-Horowitz was an associate at Squadron, Ellenoff, Plesent & Lehrer (currently Hogan Lovells) and worked at the Office of City Council President Carol Bellamy.  She also directed a division of the Planning Commission for the City of Cincinnati and was an analyst in Cincinnati's Office of Research, Evaluation and Budget.

Ms. Chapin-Horowitz has an undergraduate degree from Skidmore College, a Masters of Public Affairs from the University of Cincinnati and a Juris Doctor from New York University.
